Applications in Automated Driving

The objective of this WP is to develop the automated driving use case, which will be used for the evaluation of the technologies developed in WP2, WP3 and WP4. High-level descriptions and objectives will be given in WP2. WP2 will also define an evaluation plan which will define traceability between IoT4CPS technologies and demonstrators and ensure that the demonstrator’s requirements are fulfilled by the research work.

  • Secure and Safe Platform for Automated Driving
  • Secure and reliable V2X communication
  • Vehicle demonstrator

Method

In WP6, an environment for automated and connected driving will be set up, where first evaluations will be done in a laboratory setup, and a deployment and an execution in a real vehicle is envisioned. The in-vehicle environment is based on the virtualized platform for automotive application (e.g, ADAS) and will also make use of deterministic Ethernet communication. Required security properties of this deterministic Ethernet will be specified and evaluated.
Building upon the results provided by the research WPs, HW behavioural models, capabilities, limitations and specifications for secure and reliable V2X connectivity in realistic connected vehicle scenarios will be examined and proposed following the International Roadmap for Devices and Systems (IRDS) towards future implementations of V2X connectivity components and solutions.
WP6 will also demonstrate example implementation of specific automated driving functions and components: the implementation of changes to and extensions of the existing autonomous driving functionalities and thus the verification of the connected instrumentation solution in the real-world demonstrator environment. Possible demonstrators include decision making module for initiating lane changes, as well as the track control using conventional ACC and LKA algorithms.
